If I only had more time

If you haven't seen these already; here are some of the newest releases

This is the newest book from Barb and Alma of Blackbird Designs. It contains some wonderful information about 24 samplers from the Spencer Museum of Art. It also has 11 projects inspired by the samplers.

If you are lucky enough to live near Boston Ma you need go to the Museum of Fine Art, they have been running a wonderful exhibit of 'Embroideries of Colonial Boston'. The 3rd and final part, Domestic Embroideries, starts September 17th. If the first two parts are anything to go by it should be a wonderful show. I must say the new Art of the Americas wing is wonderful and well worth a visit.

And who doesn't wait every year for their Just Cross Stitch ornament issue. It is full of great ornaments to stitch.

One of my favorites is Inspirations magazine. I go through each issue at least a dozen times just dreaming about all the amazing projects to stitch.

Well there you have just a few of the new things out in the stitching world. Oh.... if I only had more time to stitch all those wonderful projects. Sometimes I think I spend more time planning and dreaming than actual stitching...but you know what.... it is all good.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have you seen the new Sweetheart Tree?

We received our shipment of Sweetheart Tree not too long ago and the patterns are just wonderful. Here is a sampling of some of them:
Don't you just love this 'Halloween Quadrielle'. I want it to be fall so I can hang it, especially with this heat we are having, thank goodness we only have one more day to deal with.  In keeping with a cool frame of mind how about these holiday designs:
NOEL Quadrielle

Santa & Snowman Ornaments

Rudolph & Mrs Claus Ornaments

Brrrr....I can feel a chill in the air.

Thanks for stopping by and keep cool.

Happy 4th of July

In honor of the holiday here is a new piece form Lizzie Kate
New - Land that I Love
It is from their 'now and then' series. They are taking some of their older designs and giving them a new look. The new charts have both the old / classic pattern and a pattern for the new design.
Old - Land that I Love

I also want to let you know we are in the process of planning our next 'stitch a long'. Yes, I did forget to take pictures last Saturday when the 'Mouline Rouge' group was here. I promise this month I will get a picture or two. We will be starting the new group at the end of September and the plan is to work on Rosewood Manor's 'Past and Present'. We will have more information coming soon.

I wish this was a better picture, I can tell you I have seen this in person and it is just beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great 4th of July

Stitch Groups

Did you know we have several stitch groups? There is a Wednesday night group that meets at 6:30pm and a Tuesday morning group that meets at 10:30am. Both get together on the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month. there is no charge just bring your current project and come and stitch, bitch and most importantly laugh.

We also have a Stitch a Long that is working on 'Mouline Rouge' by Long Dog Samplers

They meet the last Saturday of the month. It is taking them a little longer than expected to finish this piece but they are planning the next project so keeping checking here for updates on that, maybe you would like to join them?  I'll try to take some photos when next the group gets together.

Isn't it amazing how much stitchers have in common, we come from all different walks of life and yet when it comes to stitching we all are very similar. Is there one stitcher out there that doesn't have more patterns then they will ever stitch in there life? Do we all not go weak at the knees when we see new colors from our favorite thread companies? Can't we just spend hours just looking at our stash dreaming of the possibilities.

My consolation is that I am in very good company!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day

Just Nan

Hello All,

Today I wanted to highlight a couple of new Just Nan's limited edition pieces. The first is 'Minerva's Mouse' it is one of those wonderful enameled figurine boxes that Nan does every year.
Minerva's MouseMinerva is the goddess of wisdom, so it's a perfect name for this wise little owl.
Miss Mousie hides inside the box when she's not out chatting with Minerva

I love this piece not only because it is beautiful but my grandmother, who was one of my stitching mentors,  loved owls. She had quite a collection of owls and when she passed away a few years ago all the grandchildren received some of her pieces. This one is the first that I have added to my collection.

Another of Just Nan's new limited editions is the 'Emma and Eliza' series. The first to be released is 'Emma & Eliza in the Garden. It is a wonderful band sampler, the photo does not do it justice, the colors are luscious, there is no other way to put it.
I can't wait to see the next release, it is a Halloween theme.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day
